Grounding Exercise

Not everyone finds it helpful to be told to relax or take a deep breath when they are experiencing times of stress. Especially those who have experienced trauma, where those suggestions might be triggers for them. As an alternative, I love this grounding exercise that can fit in really well into anyone's mindfulness practice.

This is a great option for those who need to feel present and aware of their surroundings in order to feel safe and secure.

GROUNDING EXERCISE

  • 5 things you can see

  • 4 things you can feel

  • 3 things you can hear

  • 2 things you can smell

  • 1 thing you can taste
